On Thursday, the Falcons reached an agreement with their quarterback to extend his contract for five years and $150 million. Ryan’s contract is now worth $169.25 million, with a $100 million guarantee. After next season, he will earn an average of $30 million per season.
Ryan’s contract now runs through the 2023 season.
“This extension was our primary focus this offseason,” Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff stated. “Matt has been a pillar of stability for this franchise for a decade, and it is a great feeling knowing that he will remain at our helm for six more years.”
For months, the parties have been working out the details of a new agreement.
