NEWS: Stevenson Set for Cup Return in Guildford.

The Aspray Glasgow West-sponsored Glasgow Clan can confirm that captain Dyson Stevenson will return to face Guildford Flames in the Challenge Cup semi-final second leg on Wednesday.

However, the early morning good news has been tempered by the fact that #11 Reid Petryk has become the latest player to miss a game due to illness.

Stevenson has been removed from the Elite League’s Injured Reserve (IR) list following a lower body injury that has sidelined him for the past month.

His return is timely for head coach Jason Morgan, who is preparing for the cup decider, in which Clan will compete for their first cup final.

“Dyson’s return is some welcome good news for us during another period of adversity,” he told reporters.

“Losing Combs, Sanche, and now Petryk for the Guildford game was a blow for us, but having Dys back has restored that sense of optimism.

“He’s been keen to get back as soon as possible and after working with the medical team, we’re pleased to be able to have him in the team for such a big game.”
