Kansas State Wildcats news: Klieman quiet on National Signing Day, basketball on bye
A roundup of all the latest Kansas State Wildcat news and updates.
On National Signing Day the Wildcats were silent, no announcements came from Kansas State football on any new signings. Chris Klieman did all of his work on signings and transfers during preparations for the PopTarts Bowl in late December. Kansas State brought in four guys from the transfer portal and 13 guys out of high school.
The Wildcats currently have the eleventh-ranked 2024 recruiting class according to 247Sports. After losing 15 guys to the transfer portal, questions have been raised as to whether Klieman needs to go and get more guys in the spring portal window to help round out a very young roster.
After playing in a thriller on Monday, the Kansas State men’s basketball team has four days off compared to their normal two before meeting up with No. 21 BYU on Saturday. This will give the Wildcats much-needed rest after playing yet another overtime game on Monday.
The women’s basketball team got an entire week off after being beaten by No. 8 Texas on Sunday, the Wildcats’ second straight loss. The Wildcats had a 14-game win streak snapped midweek last week against Oklahoma and then rain into the brick wall that is Texas, all without their best player Ayoka Lee, who is out with injury. Hopefully, this time off will help the team regroup and prepare to take on Oklahoma State at home on Saturday.
