AUSTIN FC’S MIKEL DESLER WILL LEAVE TOULOUSE NEXT SEASON
Foot Mercato claims that Mikkel Desler, a 28-year-old right back, may not play for Toulouse the next season.
La Téfécé is in the relegation race and has suffered thus far this season. Toulouse was in 16th place going into the winter break, meaning they would have to play in a relegation playoff. However, the team has moved up to 14th place after a rare victory in their league football comeback.
Toulouse now has the youngest team in Ligue 1 after releasing four experienced players over the summer, lowering the average age of the team. By concentrating on youth, the goal is to lose another seasoned player.
Desler’s time at Toulouse is drawing to an end, and he will probably depart at the conclusion of the current campaign. The player and Austin FC, an MLS team, are reportedly close to reaching an agreement, according to Foot Mercato.
La Téfécé’s fullback, who has participated in nineteen games across all competitions, will be greatly missed by a young squad that has found it difficult to repeat its season-long success.

Austin FC Ties New York Red Bulls in CVI Finale
At the Coachella Valley Invitational on Wednesday afternoon, Austin FC played New York Red Bulls to a 3-3 tie to cap off a 10-day stay in southern California.
Jimmy Farkarlun scored a goal before halftime with an assist from Ethan Finlay, but they trailed 2-0 at the break. After that, Diego Rubio tied the score in the 60th minute, and Jáder Obrian added a second goal from a set piece seven minutes later. It was the second goal in as many preseason games for all three players, who had also each scored in last Sunday’s 3-1 triumph over LA Galaxy.
The Red Bulls leveled the score in the 70th minute, and the match ended all square.
The Verde & Black will now return to Austin for their final preseason tune-up, facing New York City FC on Saturday, February 17.
