Q2 Stadium offers free rail rides to Austin FC game Saturday as new McKalla Station opens

With the start of Austin FC’s new season on Saturday, the Q2 Stadium will see its first crowd in several months.

CapMetro McKalla Station will formally open for public usage on Saturday, making it easier than ever for these fans to get there. It offers bike and pedestrian lanes that lead straight to the stadium’s gates and is close to Austin FC’s home field. Additionally, to commemorate the station’s and the season’s opening, CapMetro customers will be able to use it for free on Saturday.

“Our partners at City of Austin, CapMetro, Project Connect, and Austin Transit Partnership have demonstrated extraordinary collaboration and commitment, resulting in this transformative addition to our neighborhood and matchday experience,” stated Andy Loughnane, president of Austin FC. For our team, our supporters, and our community, having Q2 Stadium easily accessible by eco-friendly public transit is revolutionary.
