While most people would argue that Josh Allen or Brian Burns are better possibilities, their prices may be a little too pricey for players of that caliber.
The Rams have previously expressed interest in edge rushers in free agency only in relation to stars like Von Miller and Leonard Floyd.
Miller was an aging player who simply wanted to leave his current team whenever the Rams pursued them, while Floyd was widely seen as a draft bust despite being chosen with the ninth overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft.
All of that is to say that the Rams have gone after under-the-radar free agents in the past, and Van Ginkel absolutely fits the criteria. He had a solid year for the Dolphins, and he finished with a solid six sacks for someone who only started in 11 games.
