Melbourne Victory vs Western United Prediction and Betting Tips | February 20th 2024

In the A-League on Tuesday, Melbourne Victory will host Western United, a local rival, at Melbourne Rectangular Stadium.

The hosts have lost their first league game of the month against Macarthur, and they haven’t won in their last six league games. Last week, they drew goallessly with Melbourne City. They have drawn 10 times this season, which is three more than any other team has done thus far.

Last week, the visitors defeated the Newcastle Jets 2-0 at home, with to goals from Daniel Penha and Noah Botic, to record their first victory of the year. After five losses in the league, it was their first victory in eight games.

They now have 11 points, which puts them at the bottom of the rankings after just three victories in 16 league games. They are seven points behind the Newcastle Jets, who are in 11th position.

The Boys in Blue have been having trouble lately; they have not won any of their last six league games and have drawn five of them. They will want to get back to their winning and goal-scoring ways after failing to score in their last two league games. They did, however, preserve their first clean sheet of the year in the draw with Melbourne City, and they will try to continue in same vein.

It is concerning because they have lost this game four times in a row and have only scored five goals in their last six encounters with the visitors.

After seven games last week, the visitors got back on track and won while maintaining their first clean sheet of the league season. They have lost all seven of their previous away A-League games, failing to score five goals and giving up twenty-one goals.
Despite having the advantage in this matchup and having won five of their eight games against the hosts away from home, Western United has only triumphed once on the road this year. Victory has only won once at home in this series and has lost their last six league games.

In light of that and the two clubs’ goal-scoring tendencies, a low-scoring tie is probably in store.
