Duke Basketball Champ Grayson Allen Torches Lakers

Grayson Allen of Duke basketball led the Suns to victory once more and is still the league leader in 3-point percentage.

With 24 points, Grayson Allen led the Phoenix Suns to a 123-113 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Sunday. In his 38 minutes on the court, the 2015 Duke basketball national champion added two rebounds, one steal, and one block.

The 28-year-old Allen also strengthened his league-leading 48.6 season 3-point percentage by going 8-for-17 from the field, 6-for-12 from beyond the arc, and 2-for-2 from the charity line.

One of Allen’s threes came at the buzzer to end the first quarter, giving the Suns a 45-28 advantage heading into the second:

With 3:29 left in the game, another splashed, increasing Phoenix’s advantage to 113-104 at that critical point.

After four incredible years as a Blue Devil, Grayson Allen was selected with the 21st pick overall in the 2018 NBA Draft. He is currently in his debut season with the Suns and a full-time starter, averaging a career-high 13.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 33.0 minutes per game.

Cam Reddish, a forward for Los Angeles who plays for Duke, did not play on Sunday. Due to an ankle injury, he has been out of commission since January 23; however, it looks like he will soon be back.

After a couple days off, the Suns (34-24), who are ranked seventh in the Western Conference, take on the Houston Rockets (25-31) in Phoenix on Thursday at 9 p.m. ET.
