Maryland defensive lineman Elijah Crawford talks about his recent Rutgers football offer: ‘It’s a great honor’
Elijah Crawford, a defensive lineman for Maryland, says the Rutgers football team is doing well even though it is early in the season.
Crawford’s next move is to visit the Big Ten program in the spring after receiving an offer from Rutgers last week.
The 6-foot-4, 265-pound athlete in the class of 2025 has tremendous physical attributes. His position on the McDonogh (Owings Mills, Maryland) defensive line is interior defensive lineman.
Crawford recorded 39 total tackles, three tackles for a loss, and two sacks in his final nine games as a junior.
In a recruiting that is expected to continue moving forward, Crawford has received offers thus far from West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Indiana, and Syracuse.
Crawford plans to continue learning more about the program in light of the Rutgers offer. However, he is pleased with what he has seen from the coaching staff thus far.
Crawford told Rutgers Wire, “I’m really excited about it, they’re one of the best schools in the nation – first academically but also athletically.”
“Therefore, having the chance to attend such a prestigious institution and being in the position that I am in is a great honor.”
Crawford has been getting to know defensive line coach Colin Ferrell before accepting his midweek offer.
