Dillon Gabriel discusses his faith in Jackson and the reasons he left Oklahoma football for Oregon. Arnold
NORMAN Dillon Gabriel believed he was going to the NFL when he sat down to consider his choices for the upcoming season.

However, the Sooner quarterback came to an unexpected conclusion due to the realities of his NFL possibilities and the circumstances at OU, where rookie quarterback Jackson Arnold was waiting in the wings and offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby had moved on.

“I had every intention of joining the NFL,” Gabriel stated on Sports Animal 98.1 FM in Oklahoma City on Thursday. “However, I just sat down with agencies and my family that Monday and Tuesday after that game (TCU) and tried to get all of the information they provided.”
Gabriel, on the other hand, quickly decided to attend Oregon, where he will succeed Heisman Trophy contender Bo Nix.

“I think everyone gets it and understands it, so in that situation—at least mine—everyone knows what I’m doing in a general sense,” Gabriel remarked. “People were able to just support me in my journey, and I’m grateful because OU is very special and will always feel like home.”
