Neal Brown agrees to contract extension
Vice President and Director of Athletics Wren Baker announced on Tuesday morning that WVU Football Head Coach Neal Brown has agreed to a one-year contract extension.
Brown’s contract has been extended through the 2027 season.
The most successful season of WVU football under Brown just ended. The Mountaineers defeated the University of North Carolina in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl and finished 9-4 overall and 6-3 in the Big 12.
In a release, Baker stated, “I am pleased with the progress I’ve seen in our football program since arriving last year.” “This contract adjustment, in my opinion, enables us to carry on with our momentum as we start the new Big 12 Conference season. I value the work that Coach Brown and his team do to help the youth in our program grow both on and off the field.
On Saturday, August 31, Brown and company will host Penn State for the first time since 1992 to kick off the 2024 campaign.
