Texas Tech Football: 3 Transfers That Will Make Them Better

The Texas Tech Red Raiders posted a 7-6 record (5-4 in the Big 12) a season ago, with three of their losses by eight points or less. However, they did get a signature 3-point win over then-19th-ranked Kansas on the road.

Head coach Joey McGuire used the transfer portal to look for assistance on both sides of the ball in order to lessen the pain of attrition, since the Red Raiders only returned 52% of their output from the team from the previous season. These three additions will have an effect starting with spring practice and going forward.

In just one season with the Cougars, Josh Kelly led the team with 61 catches for 923 yards and eight touchdowns, averaging 15 yards/catch. Kelly posted four games of 100 yards receiving, including three in a row to finish the season.
