Austin FC II, its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate, has signed winger Jimmy Farkarlun to a short-term contract, the club announced today. Farkarlun is eligible to play in Saturday, March 16th’s MLS encounter at Q2 Stadium between Austin and the Philadelphia Union.

With the 31st overall choice, Austin FC chose Farkarlun from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. He signed with ATXFC II on February 20, 2024, after playing with Austin FC’s first squad throughout the 2024 preseason.

A club may sign a player from its MLS NEXT Pro affiliate who is 25 years of age or under to a maximum of four (4) Short-Term Agreements (up to four-day contracts) each season (a maximum of 16 total days), as per the 2024 MLS Roster Rules and Regulations. A single player may be included on as many as four (4) rosters for MLS league season matches in a given season, but they may only participate in two (2) of those games. A player is permitted to participate in as many non-league games as possible while his four (4) Short-Term Agreements are in effect.
