The Royals will still end 10 games below.500 even if they swing to 20 wins in 2024. Last season, the Twins won 87 games. The Royals would still need to finish above.500 in order to win the AL Central and have a chance at the postseason, even though the division is already poor and has only become weaker due to injuries and departures. That would be a significant improvement over the previous year, and many things would need to go well. Defense and pitching must be the identity. In addition to Witt needing to carry on from last year, the younger batters also need to step up.
