Latest CBS Sports mock draft makes NFL history

Chapel Hill’s collegiate basketball season is now finished, and it’s time to start anticipating the NFL draft in April.

Drake Maye, a former Tar Heel quarterback who dominated college football the past two seasons, is expected to be selected among the first picks. During his time at UNC, Maye ran for 1,209 yards and 16 touchdowns in addition to throwing 8,018 passing yards with 63 touchdowns and 16 interceptions.

Under center, Maye is capable of almost anything. Although there is some disagreement over whether he will be chosen in the top 10, he possesses an extremely powerful arm and the ability to elude pressure.

In their most recent mock draft, CBS Sports included him in NFL history.

According to the media site, quarterbacks will be selected with the top four picks for the first time in NFL history, should that occur. In the most recent CBS Sports mock, Maye is ranked second behind the Washington Commanders. Caleb Williams (No. 1), Jayden Daniels (No. 3), and J.J. McCarthy (No. 4) round out the quartet, according to the publication.
