Northampton Saints snap up trio of young prospects

Three young players have joined with the Northampton Saints ahead of the 2019–20 season: tighthead prop Luke Green, second rower Fyn Brown, and flanker Archie Benson.

The 23-year-old Benson comes from Luctonians, where he was a constant and helped the Leominster team place second in National League Two West.

The 21-year-old Brown, who began his career at Wasps, appeared in 19 Championship games for Doncaster Knights the previous year.

Former England youth cap Green, 22, is currently in his second year of Major League Rugby with San Diego Legion.

“Some of our best signings over the last few years have been guys who have not necessarily followed the ‘conventional’ route into the Premiership,” said Saints’ director of rugby Phil Dowson.

“We hope these guys can tread the same path and we’re really looking forward to seeing what they can do in a black, green and gold jersey next season.”
