Phoenix Mercury Take Another Shot at WNBA Rookies With Diana Taurasi Video

On Tuesday evening, Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury faced off against the Seattle Storm in a preseason matchup.

Early in the game, Taurasi bulldozed over Seattle rookie Nika Muhl for an and-1 and did a first pump over her.

The Mercury posted this clip with a caption directed toward the league’s new rookies.

“Welcome to the wnba, besties,” the team’s official account wrote on X.

Earlier this year, Taurasi said “reality is coming” for Caitlin Clark when she begins her WNBA career. These comments sparked heavy backlash from fans around the league.

Amid this backlash, the Mercury have defended Taurasi at every turn.
