Transfer tracker: Florida football lands commitment from starting Arizona State WR
Elijah Badger, a four-star receiver who committed to the Florida Gators, is one of the best offensive players available in the spring transfer portal, according to Florida football.
Last season, Badger had 65 receptions for 713 yards and three touchdowns with Arizona State. He visited UF last week. In his three seasons at ASU, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound Badger has totaled 142 catches for 1,640 yards, with 10 touchdowns coming via reception and three more via rush.
Florida is trying to bolster its starting lineup, which includes Eugene Wilson III and Kahleil Jackson, by adding depth and playmaking potential. Badger might be a good fit. Additionally, Wisconsin wide receiver Chemire Dike, who is acquainted with returning starter quarterback Graham Mertz, was added by Florida.
Florida is hoping that Badger makes an impact similar to another ASU transfer, Ricky Pearsall, who led the Gators in receivers for two seasons before being picked in the first round of the NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers.
