Bodvarsson and Jerome to leave Bolton
Cameron Jerome and Jon Dadi Bodvarsson will depart Bolton at the conclusion of their contracts next month, the club has announced.
Declan John, a defender who played on loan at Salford City the previous season, will also be leaving Wanderers, who were defeated by Oxford in the League One play-off final this past weekend.
The 31-year-old Icelandic striker Bodvarsson came to Bolton in January 2022 and has scored 25 goals in 94 games, including 10 this season.
After scoring just once in his first 49 games, Jerome, 37, signed an 18-month contract with the team in January 2023. Last month, he scored in back-to-back games against Shrewsbury, Port Vale, and Peterborough to assist Ian Evatt’s team capture crucial points in their promotion race.
The 28-year-old Wales international John, who played for Bolton for four seasons, will not also be given a new contract.
Meanwhile, Bolton has activated the contract extension clauses of midfielder Nelson Khumbeni, who spent last season on loan at Morecambe, and goalkeeper Luke Hutchinson, age 21.
