One of the most talked about names in this summer’s transfer market is Brighton and Hove Albion’s Moises Caicedo.

The 21-year-old Ecuadorian has become hot property since it became clear that the Seagull’s were willing to accept that he could leave the club along with Alexis Mac Allister.

With Declan Rice expected to move to Arsenal, that could start a chain reaction for defensive midfielders at other Premier League clubs.

Man United, for example, have shown interest in Caicedo according to talkSPORT.

The outlet also mention that Chelsea could be a landing spot for the player and Arsenal, if they’re unable to land their top target, Rice, might even be in the mix for the youngster.

There’s one issue that could stop all three English top-flight clubs from going near him, however.

According to talkSPORT, Brighton apparently believe that their player is worth in excess of £100m, the same as Rice.

It’s an interesting standpoint for the club, given that, although they’re going places under Roberto De Zerbi, they’re not feasting from football’s top table just yet.

Talks Today: Poch wants star ‘in the building’ as Chelsea seek breakthrough – Exclusive

Chelsea are now pushing hard to complete the signing of Moises Caicedo, sources have told Football Insider.

The London giants are in negotiations over a deal worth around £80million and are very keen to make a breakthrough this week.

Mauricio Pochettino wants Caicedo “in the building”, sources say, before the start of pre-season training.

Talks will continue today as Chelsea look to secure an agreement with Brighton.

Caicedo is keen to make the move to Chelsea and has already agreed personal terms with the club.

Last week (22 June), Football Insider revealed that an official bid from the Blues is on the way as they look to sell multiple senior stars to make room for incomings.

The Stamford Bridge club have already sold Mateo Kovacic to Premier League rivals Man City for a reported initial fee of £25m.

Fellow London club Arsenal have been long-term admirers of the Caicedo but have pulled back from the race as they focus on Declan Rice and Romeo Lavia.

The midfielder made 43 appearances for De Zerbi’s side across all competitions this season, scoring one goal and one assist in those outings.
