The agent of Destiny Udogie seems to have suggested that Tottenham have ruled out a new loan despite the interest of AC Milan plus two of their rivals.
Spurs secured the signing of the Italy U21 international last summer but opted to leave him on loan at Udinese for a season in order to guarantee him playing time to aid his development at the age of 20.
However, Spurs are now expected to bring him back to north London given that they have changed managers, with Ange Postecoglou – who is known for working with young players – expected to find a role for him in either the right-back or left-back role.
Udogie’s agent Stefano Antonelli spoke during an interview with Sky about what the future holds for his client heading into next season, with his comments relayed by AllFootball.
“Udogie’s situation is clear. He is a Tottenham player and we had contact over the last few days because they changed management and the coach will play 4-3-3 rather then 3-5-2,” he said.
“Postecoglu is absolutely convinced that Udogie will have space, but the Italian clubs are calling because some feel he needs another step before making the move, perhaps in a top club like Juve, Milan or Inter.
“I received a call from the Tottenham technical area today and asked us to confirm the plan, which is to go on tour in Thailand. They guarantee the importance of the player as of today, and we will evaluate everything, but he is a Tottenham player.”
