The latest Leicester City news as first team coaches Adam Sadler, Mike Stowell and Lars Knudsen have all left the club as it embarks on a new chapter under Enzo Maresca
Leicester City have announced the departure of coaches Adam Sadler, Mike Stowell and Lars Knudsen as Enzo Maresca shapes his backroom staff at the club.
Both Sadler and Stowell have been at the club for a number of years, with the former initially joining in 2014. He was promoted to first team coach in 2018, where he worked alongside Claude Puel, Brendan Rodgers and Dean Smith.
Stowell, meanwhile, has been with the club even longer. The former Wolves goalkeeper has been the goalkeeper coach since 2005 and has had six stints as caretaker boss, including two alongside Sadler.
The latest stint saw the duo take charge of two games before Smith was appointed as interim coach last season. City fell to home losses against Aston Villa and Bournemouth in the two matches.
Set-piece coach Knudsen hasn’t been with the club so long, having joined last summer. He came in under Brendan Rodgers in order to try and fix City’s long standing problem in both conceding and scoring set-pieces.
City confirmed the exits in a club statement on Friday evening writing in an official statement: “The trio bid farewell to the Foxes with the best wishes of everyone at Leicester City, with Mike and Adam in particular leaving significant imprints on the Club’s recent history during periods of considerable success.”
