Leeds United are one of the sides said to be interested in signing West Brom winger Grady Diangana this summer, alongside their two relegated rivals Southampton and Leicester City.
The Whites are going to have to work very quick to ensure that new manager Daniel Farke has enough quality in his squad for a promotion bid.
Attacking departures are likely from the senior squad, and it’s up to Farke and Nick Hammond to source adequate replacements.
Grady Diangana to Leeds?
The Express and Star are reporting that Leeds are one of the sides keeping tabs on West Brom winger Grady Diangana.
Carlos Corberan’s side are likely to have to sell key players to balance the books, but the previous departure of Dara O’Shea to Burnley for £7million has relieved some of that pressure.
Diangana has been at the Hawthorns since 2019/20 when he helped the Baggies clinch promotion alongside Leeds on an initial loan, before costing the club a reported £12million that could rise to £18million.
The winger notched four goals and three assists in all competitions last season.
Who else wants to sign him?
Leeds aren’t the only side keen on signing him, with both of Leeds’ recently-relegated rivals Southampton and Leicester City said to be interested.
The Foxes have started ambitiously with their transfer business under Enzo Maresca, bringing in Harry Winks and Conor Coady already, having sold James Maddison to Tottenham.
For the money that West Brom will be asking for with Diangana, I don’t think it’s a signing that is worth making for us.
He was electric in that season when West Brom finished second behind us, but he wasn’t their best attacker, nor has he kicked on since.
Diangana would be somewhat underwhelming, given he’s not set the Championship alight since dropping back in with the Baggies.
