It has been reported that Manchester City starlet Callum Doyle is set to sign for Leicester City on loan next season.

This comes from the ever-credible journalist Jack Gaughan, after the 19-year-old had yet another successful loan stint at Coventry City.

Now, it seems Enzo Maresca’s Leicester City is the next destination for Callum Doyle, albeit on loan where he intends to further hone his craft.

Manchester City youngster Callum Doyle set for Leicester City loan

Clearly, the teenager is in City’s plans, as he officially penned a contract until 2027 with the club in January this year.

Often compared to Aymeric Laporte, the Englishman is also an incredible passer, known to also be very comfortable when tasked to carry the ball out of defence and most importantly, is an astute reader of the game at the back.

Now, Jack Gaughan has revealed that Callum Doyle is ‘set to complete’ a loan move to Leicester City, with the deal all but official.

It has also been claimed that there is no option-to-buy in the deal, which indicates that the treble-winners have no intention to let go of the youngster anytime soon.

Working with Enzo Maresca will be a huge help for Callum Doyle

One of the reasons why Leicester is the perfect club for him to go out on loan to is due to the presence of Enzo Maresca as their manager.

The Italian was Pep Guardiola’s assistant coach last season and knows the ins and outs of how City like to play their football.

Maresca has also managed the EDS (Elite Development Squad) previously and as a result, he also has a wealth of experience in working closely with young prospects.

For Doyle, while he will leave City on a temporary basis, he is likely to learn his parent club’s style of play from a coach who was an instrumental part of their setup during their greatest season till date.

This education could play a huge role in Callum Doyle fulfilling his sparkling potential.
