Nottingham Forest have now made a bid to sign PSV midfielder Ibrahim Sangare. The Reds tried to land the combative midfielder last summer and now they’ve moved once again to try and land the player.

According to The Athletic, the Reds have now firmed up a long-standing interest in the player. The club are busy trying to do some transfer business before the season gets underway.

Sangare’s price tag is thought to be in excess of £30 million. Dutch publication ED has already claimed that the first bid from Forest for the midfielder is nowhere near enough to tempt them into a sale.

Still, Forest are likely to be undeterred. The Reds wanted Sangare last summer, with Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool all keen on a deal during the 2022 transfer window.

Now, it’s Forest who have made the first move for Sangare. Last season proved a successful one for the 25-year-old as he scored eight goals and registered three assists.

Sangare has been with the Dutch outfit since 2020 when he joined from Toulouse. In total, he’s made 133 appearances for the club but a top European league now appears to be calling.

Forest have now made a bid for Sangare

Roger Schmidt previously praised Sangare back in 2021. He called him ‘unstoppable’ and it’s fair to say that the player is certainly a very good midfield player.

Forest are looking to strengthen their ranks with a defensive midfielder. Sangare can do it all in the middle of the park and he looks tailor-made to perform the duties that the Reds are looking for.

The midfielder is also a regular with the Ivory Coast team. Sangare is international teammates with Forest pair Willy Boly and Serge Aurier, making 31 caps and scoring nine times for his country.

Forest are yet to add to their ranks this summer. This time around it’s a case of quality over quantity and it does appear that the recruitment team are working hard behind the scenes.

Rumour rating: 9/10 – Wow! This would be quite a signing. Given that half of the Premier League appears to have looked at him, this would really send out a message.

Forest will have to up the ante though. Their first bid is said to be way short and they won’t want to mess about too much with this deal.

Sangare is a player who could star in the Premier League. If Forest can get this one over the line, it would represent a brilliant start to the summer transfer window.
