Nottingham Forest have released their new home kit for the 23/24 campaign. Much like the start of last season, it doesn’t have a sponsor – much to the surprise of some supporters.

The kit is designed by Adidas once again. Forest have returned to the brand with the three stripes for the first time since the 2017/18 campaign after five seasons with Macron.

Adidas kits are symbolic on Trentside, with Forest winning two European Cups wearing their kits back in 1979 and 1980.

Forest won’t be scaling European heights next season. Instead, they will hope to kick on after finishing 16th in the Premier League during 2022/23.

The Reds will certainly hope to start the new Adidas era better than they finished the last one. Forest finished 17th in the Championship and were largely a basket case under Mark Warburton and then Aitor Karanka.

The strip is naturally red in colour with white trim, but why doesn’t it have a sponsor?

Why does the new Nottingham Forest kit have no sponsor?

Basically, it has no sponsor at the moment. Still, the club remain locked in talks with potential businesses to get themselves a shirt sponsor.

Ideagen have been announced as the new shirt sleeve sponsor, with the club announcing that on their official website.

A recent article by The Athletic has claimed, however, that the club are in talks to get a shirt sponsor for the new campaign.

What happened to Nottingham Forest’s previous sponsor?

Well, that was always likely to only act as a short-term measure. With the club failing to get a sponsor for last season they opted to place a charity on the shirt instead.

Several clubs did the same during the campaign. Forest opted for the UNHCR to be on their shirts; joining forced with the UN Refugee Agency to support people fleeing from conflicts around the world.

Now, Forest are going to try and obtain an actual sponsor. As a Premier League club, it shouldn’t be too hard to find a company willing to have their names on the shirt.

However, as with anything in modern-day football, the price will need to be right for Forest.
