Roma Giallorossa have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur face competition from London rivals Fulham and West Ham United for AS Roma centre-back Roger Ibanez.
The report explains that Roma have to offload some players in order to make ways for new signings, with Ibanez being one of the players that the club are said to be listening to offers for.
It is alleged that Tottenham not only expressed an interest in the Brazilian but also sent an offer for him worth €22m (£18.8m) a week ago, which was met with a ‘resounding no’ by the Italian side.
Spurs would need to make second bid for Ibanez
Roma are said to have initially made it clear to Ibanez’s suitors that they want €35m (£30m) for the player but they are thought to have now dropped their asking price to €30m (£25.6m).
The publication adds that the Giallorossi could even consider an offer of €25m (£21.4m) for the 24-year-old but it is explained that no concrete bids have arrived since Tottenham’s initial effort.
The report goes on to reveal that over recent days, both the Cottagers and the Hammers have enquired about Ibanez.
Spurs Web Opinion
If Ibanez is on Tottenham’s wishlist, he probably ranks a fair way down, with the Lilywhites seemingly prioritising moves for other centre-backs at the moment.
After Spurs wrap up the signing of a left-sided centre-back (probably Van de Ven or Tapsoba), I expect the club to reignite their interest in Marc Guehi.
