Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will not actively push Kieran Tierney out of the Gunners, according to a report.
Journalist Charles Watts has told TEAMtalk that Arsenal could keep Kieran Tierney if the Gunners do not get the desired transfer fee for the left-back.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Arsenal are not going to sell the former Celtic star on the cheap.
Although Arsenal will not stand in the way of Tierney if he wants to leave, the North London club will not actively try to get rid of him, according to Watts.
Watts said about Arsenal and Tierney: “They’re not going to give him away. If they don’t get an offer that they think is suitable, then they’re not going to push him out of the door.
“He’s a very good player and he could be very important to Arsenal but the team has evolved under Arteta without him.”
The journalist added: “He’s definitely a player who could go, who they wouldn’t stand in the way of going. And they know they can make good money on him but they won’t actively shove him out the door.”
Kieran Tierney should leave Arsenal this summer
In our opinion, Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney should seriously consider leaving the Gunners in the summer transfer window.
We do not think that there is any point in the Scotland international left-back warming the bench at the Emirates Stadium..
Oleksandr Zinchenko established himself as the number one left-back at Arsenal last season following his move from Manchester City in the summer of 2022.
Ukraine international Zinchenko plays the left-back role the way that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta wants.
Tierney is not able to play that ‘inverted full-back’ role.
The 26-year-old £110,000-a-week (SalarySport) star is more of a traditional left-back who can run up and down the flank.
The left-back, though, is in demand.
According to The Telegraph, Newcastle United want to sign Tierney.
The Northern Echo has claimed that Aston Villa are interested in the left-back.
Tierney’s former club Celtic have been linked as well.
So Tierney does have options, and we believe that the Scottish star should seriously consider them.
Tierney has made 91 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The left-back has scored three goals, given eight assists and kept 19 clean sheets in those games.
Last season, the Arsenal defender made six starts and 21 substitute appearances in the Premier League, providing one assist in the process.
