There could be a major boost for West Ham as controversy swirls around the Fiorentina boss after a sudden approach ahead of the Euro final.
We now stand just over 48 hours from the Europa Conference League final between West Ham and Fiorentina.
The Hammers take on La Viola at 8pm on Wednesday night looking to win their first major trophy for 43 years.
In doing so West Ham would also qualify for next season’s Europa League.
Fiorentina will comfortably be the best side West Ham have faced in this season’s competition.
They have put some very good sides away in Serie A this season and made the Italian cup final – in which they dominated Champions League finalists Inter Milan and were desperately unlucky to lose.

So it promises to be a close encounter decided by fine margins.
With that in mind, David Moyes and the Hammers will relish murmurings of discontent surrounding the club right now.
There has been a major boost for West Ham as controversy swirls around the Fiorentina boss after a sudden approach ahead of the Euro final.
Fiorentina’s sporting director has hit out ahead of the final after Serie A champions Napoli made an approach for their manager Vincenzo Italiano.
‘Every time we have big matches they try to destabilise our work’
Italiano is now the favourite to replace Luciano Spalletti and Joe Barone has accused Napoli of ‘trying to ‘destabilise our work’ ahead of the huge meeting with West Ham.
“He has a contract, I want to clarify it and these are respected,” Barone said on DAZN, as reported by Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla.
“Every time we have (big) matches, news comes out trying to destabilise the work we are doing.
“We are happy with our work and, above all, with our future.”
Players were forced to apologise to manager after public criticism last month
Last month we reported on claims of a tense atmosphere within the locker room at Fiorentina.
duo Luka Jovic and Aleksa Terzic were reportedly forced to apologise after sharing an Instagram post criticising coach Vincenzo Italiano for a ‘tactical disaster class’ against Basel.
Longstanding West Ham target Jovic and Terzic shared a post on their Instagram Stories from an account called ‘teamjovic7’ after the defeat.
It was extremely critical of coach Italiano’s choices, accompanied by a picture of Jovic and Terzic jerseys hanging in the dressing room of the Stadio Franchi.
Both players were forced to apologise to Italiano and the club. And they could also be fined. The account also published a new post apologising for the problems it caused but not the criticisms it made.
