The Foxes were relegated from the Premier League on the final day of the season as the Toffees managed to stay up with their win over Bournemouth.
Barnes hit 13 goals from his 34 goals in the top flight this season, but there may be serious questions as to whether or not they could still afford this move.

“This term, he was their top goalscorer with 13 in the Premier League as he couldn’t inspire the Foxes to safety. Barnes enjoyed a breakthrough season under c four years ago and could be an eye-catching attacking recruit.
“With Demarai Gray and Dominic Calvert-Lewin among the options this season, there is a growing need to add depth across the squad and in particular upfront. Barnes for that area would be a no-brainer.”
Barnes really is a top talent and one that is definitely too good to be playing in the Championship.
Relegated players are faced with the same decision every season, either to stay at their club and fight for immediate promotion, or stay in the top flight by making a switch to a side that stayed in the division.
Leicester’s case looks slightly different, however, with the Foxes seemingly in desperate need of offloading players in order to balance their books.
That could mean a quickfire sale of several star players, including hugely talented winger Barnes, which is exciting news for many Premier League clubs, including the Toffees.
He enjoyed another superb season, with his feats made even more impressive given his club’s overall struggles, with Leicester enduring a torrid time this season.
Everton are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements after a frustrating campaign in the final third, but whether or not they can convince Barnes to come to Goodison Park is another matter entirely.
