Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Tottenham have now reached a verbal agreement with Ange Postecoglou over becoming their next head coach.
It was widely reported last week that Spurs are expected to accelerate their pursuit of Postecoglou following the Scottish Cup final on Saturday (The Sun) and that is exactly what seems to be transpiring.
The Athletic revealed on Sunday that the Cetlic boss was ‘close’ to replacing Antonio Conte at Spurs, with the North London club alleged to have identified him as someone who can instigate cultural change and re-energise the team’s style of play.
Romano has now taken to social media to reveal that the Lilywhites now already have a verbal agreement in place with Postecoglou.
The journalist stated that the Australian is expected to sign a two-year contract in N17 with an option of a one-year extension. Romano added that Tottenham will now look to hammer out an agreement with Celtic for the 57-year-old.

This appointment will be met with a mixed reaction from the Tottenham fan base but the one thing I am pleased about is that the club have clearly identified the kind of direction they want to head in and have the courage of their convictions.
However, the fact that they are only giving Postecoglou a two-year deal, suggests that Daniel Levy and the Spurs hierarchy are aware that this is a risk and that there is a chance that the appointment would not work.
