Tottenham Hotspur have made it clear to Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou that he would not be able to spend a lot of money in transfer windows, according to a report.

The Times have reported that Tottenham Hotspur are on the verge of appointing Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou as their new head coach.

The Australian has agreed a two-year contract with Tottenham with the option of a third season.

Premier League club Spurs have agreed compensation with Scottish Premiership outfit Celtic for the Australian manager.

According to The Times, Postecoglou has been clearly told what he can expect from Spurs in regard to money for signing new players.

“Postecoglou has been told that he will have to work within his means in the transfer market after Conte tried to pressure the club to spend significantly,” states The Times.

Ange Postecoglou could fit Tottenham Hotspur’s model

In our view, Ange Postecoglou could be the dream manager for Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy.

We know that Levy does not like spending a lot of money on players.

And Postecoglou will know from his time at Celtic how to work within a budget.

Yes, Celtic are financially superior to the rest of the clubs in Scotland, but the Scottish Premiership champions are not in a position to spend money any way they like.

The Hoops have to be careful with their money.
