Nottingham Forest are now keeping tabs on Wolves defender Conor Coady. The defender is expected to be on the move again this summer after his loan spell with Everton.

According to the Daily Mail, Forest are keen on signing the 30-year-old England international. The Toffees have decided not to activate their option to sign him permanently for £4.5 million.

The Reds aren’t the only team in the mix to sign the experienced defender. Newly promoted Sheffield United are tracking him, although they won’t have much to spend this summer.

Forest are looking for another central defender. They do have Felipe, Moussa Niakhate, Willy Boly, Scott McKenna and Joe Worrall within their ranks at present, with another on the radar.

Coady is vastly experienced but found himself struggling to impress Sean Dyche at Everton. He preferred Michael Keane, James Tarkowski and Yerry Mina ahead of him at Goodison Park.

In total, the player made 25 appearances for Everton. He scored a couple of goals for the club and as a Liverpool-born player, he will perhaps be gutted not to move there permanently.

Coady earns £62,000-a-week at Wolves. With Julen Lopetegui likely to need to sell in order to buy, offloading the centre-back looks like something that the club would be keen to do this summer.

Wolves youngster Fabio Silva praised Coady when he first signed for Wolves. He called him ‘amazing’ and suggested that he helped him to settle into English football when he checked in at Molineux.

A move to Forest might be an attractive one for Coady. He wouldn’t have to move very far and there is also a couple of Forest players that he knows very well.

He’s made 145 appearances alongside Willy Boly and has also made appearances in the same team as Morgan Gibbs-White during his career.

Rumour rating: 7/10 – We like the one a fair bit. Coady is a model professional and he excelled at Wolves when playing as part of a back three.

Steve Cooper would love to revert to his preferred formation next season and Coady would allow the head coach to do just that.
