Leicester City dressing room reacts to dramatic Cardiff City win

The latest Leicester City news as Cesare Casadei’s debut goal in stoppage time earned City all three points as they made history at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City retained their one hundred percent win record so far this season, claiming a new club record in dramatic fashion against Cardiff City.

A 92nd minute goal from debutant Cesare Casadei earned City all three points and meant that they became the first Leicester team ever to win their first four matches of the season in all competitions. The goal came just a matter of days after Casadei completed his loan move from Chelsea this week.

The Italian was named on the bench by Enzo Maresca, but came onto the pitch with around half an hour remaining. With the game looking like it was heading to a 1-1 draw, the midfielder was able to pounce on a loose ball in the box as City claimed for a penalty on Jamie Vardy.

That goal came after another debut goal earlier in the game. Academy graduate Wanya Marcal-Madivadua made his second start in a row, and guided a superb volley into the top corner in the first half to give City the lead.

That lead was gone on the stroke of half time, when Aaron Ramsey scored a spectacular equaliser. But Casadei made the required impact meaning City took another three points in their quest for promotion this season.

Following the game, players took to social media to give their reaction. Ricardo Pereira , who wore the captain’s armband for the game, wrote on Instagram: Well done to everyone. Congrats to @_cesarecasadei_ and @wanyamarcall for their first goal for @lcfc. Casadei replied in the comments section with a blue heart, praying hands and ‘top’ emoji.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall posted to his Instagram stories, simply writing ‘+3’, with a second post showing him applauding the fans after along with a clapping hand emoji.

After scoring his first professional goal in some style Marcal-Madivadua wrote: “What a feeling it was to score my first goal in front of the fans today. Another great performance and another 3pts!!!”

In the replies, were Callum Doyle , Kasey Mcateer and Jakub Stolarczyk, all congratulating the academy graduate on his goal.

The other goalscorer, Casadei, reposted a celebration picture on his Instagram stories, along with three fox emojis. He also reposted Vardy ’s congratulations with praying hands, praising hands and a blue heart emoji.

The message from Vardy read: “What a way to introduce yourself to the King Power @_cesarecasadei_.” He also congratulated Marcal-Madivadua on his first goal, reposting a clip on his stories along with the message “Congrats on your first professional goal @wanyamarcall.”

City will look to extend their winning run further when they take on Rotherham United at the New York Stadium next Saturday.
