Leeds United’s Star Rejected Saudi Arabia’s Approach

According to the Athletic, Leeds United defender Liam Cooper turned down a hefty offer from Saudi Arabia in order to discuss a new contract at Elland Road.

Cooper has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, where clubs are spending big money to bring in new players.

 

Al Qadsiah desired Cooper and was willing to pay him handsomely to pack his belongings and depart Leeds.

Cooper, on the other hand, turned down the Saudi offer in order to stay at Leeds and negotiate a new deal.

 

The centre-back suffered an injury in Leeds’ season opener and is presently out.

Cooper’s current contract with Leeds expires at the end of the season, although he is eager to continue at Elland Road.

The 32-year-old’s immediate focus, however, is expected to be on overcoming his foot ailment and getting back on the field.

Cooper is now visible in 266 games for Leeds since signing from Chesterfield.
