Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham player will miss Burnley game due to injury In his pre-match press conference ahead of this weekend’s encounter at Burnley, Ange Postecoglou delivered an update on Tottenham team news.

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Giovani Lo Celso will miss Tottenham’s Premier League match against Burnley due to injury. Starting in Tuesday night’s Carabao Cup defeat against Fulham before being replaced at half-time due to a quad strain, he was replaced by youngster Dane Scarlett.

Lo Celso, who is unavailable for this weekend’s game at Turf Moor owing to the same illness, has also been left out of Argentina’s squad for this month’s international matches against Ecuador and Bolivia. Other than the absence of the attacking midfielder for the game in Lancashire, Postecoglou has revealed no other difficulties as Spurs attempt to get back on track.

“From the other night, the only one missing is Gio Lo Celso,” the 58-year-old remarked during his pre-match press conference. “He has a quad strain, which is why we took him out at halftime.” It’s not something serious. We’ll be taking a break soon, so hopefully not too long after that.”

A setback for Lo Celso at a time when he is hoping to build a name for himself at Tottenham, the midfielder will be determined to capitalize on his opportunity following the international break. The ex-Villarreal loanee has appeared in two of Tottenham’s opening four games of the season.
