Ruben Neves | A letter to the fans

As the chapter on his Wolves career comes to an end, skipper Ruben Neves offers a heartfelt message penned to all those who have played a part in his six years at Molineux.

Wolves.

There are six seasons. 253 games.

Champions of the Championship, five years in the Premier League, an FA Cup semi-final, our European experience, and some tremendous victories.

30 goals, 13 assists, and plenty of memories to last a lifetime.

What an incredible journey.

I’ve met so many wonderful folks along the road. From the kit men to the catering staff, and from the ground crew to the board members. From the physiotherapists to the coaches, technical staff, and media. Thank you to everyone I’ve had the pleasure of working with.

Every single one of them was unforgettable.

All of the players who have been a part of the club over the last six years have become lifelong friends. We did an excellent job of protecting the pack.

The way we worked together, how we fought for the club, what we accomplished, and all the times we spent together were incredible.

There are no words to describe our locker room, which has a team spirit like I’ve never seen before. Then I became captain for the final year, which made me incredibly proud.

Thank you very much.

Your dedication to the team is incredible.

I was taken aback when I arrived here at the start of the Championship season, but now I’m one of you.

I’m a huge fan. For all eternity.

It seems like home here, and we will never forget you.

Six years is a long time to travel. A very long time. My children grew up in Wolverhampton and were very happy there. My darling wife and I will never forget our time here as a family, and I hope we can maintain this strong bond.

I’m leaving as a participant, but I’ll always be a wolf. Whatever the case may be.

Thank you very much, and I hope to meet you in the South Bank one day.

‘Wolves ay we,’ they say.

Ruben Neves, your captain.
