‘Very positive’ – Did Bristol Rovers have a successful transfer window?

Bristol Rovers made the most of their summer transfer window, with Joey Barton’s side bringing in 12 new players.

Bristol Rovers made good use of the free and loan markets, and they even spent a bit of money on signing Connor Taylor from Stoke City.

The Gas continue to make their mark on League One as well with Barton’s men expected to improve on their commendable 17th place finish in the third tier last season.

The club currently sit in the same 17th place position, though a 4-1 win over Cheltenham Town last time out and a 1-1 draw with Lincoln City in the game prior suggests that Rovers can improve on last season’s league finish.

Our assessment…

“One can’t help but admire what Bristol Rovers are doing and the job that Barton is doing there.

“They’ve made some really good free and loan signings this summer and they’ve quite rapidly put together a team that really should be challenging near the play-off places this season.

“The signing of Taylor as well is one of intent from the club and now it’s down to Barton and his staff to get this team really firing, and up the table.

“On the whole, Bristol Rovers have had a very positive summer transfer window, with the club showing that it’s a very attractive place for players to come and play.”
