Wolverhampton Wanderers: Injured player posts Instagram message
Injured Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Nelson Semedo has taken to Instagram to update the fans on his recovery.
Semedo has had a mixed season for the Wolves, having featured heavily in the first half of the campaign as the mainstay right wing-back, but he picked up an injury that saw him sidelined for nine games towards the latter stages of the season.
Wolves had a disappointing end to the Premier League season and they did not win any of their last seven games, which meant that they finished 10th in the table as their European challenge faded.
Semedo signed for Wolves from Barcelona in 2020 and he has been a constant in the side since, making 63 appearances in all competitions whilst chipping in with two goals and two assists.
Despite it now being the off-season and players are typically on holiday, Semedo took to Instagram and posted a story of him at the training ground, with the caption: “No days off.”
Semedo was a vital part of Wolves’ impressive form in the first half of the season, helping out at both ends of the pitch, as he had the third-most successful dribbles (1.6) and the fourth-most tackles per game (2.3), as per SofaScore.
It was a huge loss for Bruno Lage when Semedo was not able to properly feature, and his absence coincided with the poor form of the side, and losses started to roll in when he was missing.
It will be great news for Wolves fans that Semedo is putting in the hard work during the off-season to hopefully recover and be fully fit ahead of the new campaign and help his side get back into Europe.
