Nottingham Forest are ready to pay £20 million to sign Stuttgart striker Silas Katompa Mvumpa this summer. The Reds will try desperately to bolster their strike force ahead of the 2023/24 campaign.
It would appear that Forest would be getting themselves quite a player too. During the 2021/22 campaign when being discussed in the running for Rookie of the Year, he was compared to Timo Werner.
Silas enjoyed a pretty decent campaign during 2022/23. The player scored seven goals and claimed two assists, despite a season of struggle for Stuttgart who only kept their Bundesliga place by beating Hamburg in the play-offs.
The striker is uncompromising and is renowned for doing more than just scoring goals. As a result, he’d be an option that is perhaps similar to Taiwo Awoniyi and a move makes a bit of sense.
It seems likely that the player will leave the Bundesliga outfit this summer. He has a wealth of suitors and Forest are one of the clubs interested in paying £20 million for his services.
Silas is a DR Congo international. He made his debut for his country in March 2023 and he will hope that a move could help establish him as a regular on the international stage.

The man who played for Chelsea in the Premier League had a very modest record in the English top flight. He scored 23 goals in 89 appearances but it would appear that he’s tailor-made for Bundesliga football.
During the season just gone, he fired 16 goals and claimed six assists for RB Leipzig. As a result, he may choose to stay there for his entire career, given that he always seems to find a way to shine there.
Silas would be a pretty useful signing for the Reds. Steve Cooper definitely needs to complete the signing of another striker or two to complement Awoniyi in the Forest attack.
At 25-years-old, Silas still has time on his side to grow at Forest. As a result, he’d fit the ethos nicely and could prove to be a firm favourite among the fan base at the City Ground.
