“That gives us confidence”- Leicester City player Ndidi sends message to Manchester City ahead of EPL showdown
Manchester City has beaten Leicester City eleven times in the Premier League.
Wilfred Ndidi, a Super Eagles player, has delivered a warning to Pep Guardiola’s team ahead of Leicester City’s match against Manchester City.
The Nigerian, who recently acknowledged Dean Smith’s impact on the team, feels the Cityzens’ overconfidence will aid the Foxes’ victory at the Etihad Stadium.
Following Brendan Rodgers’ dismissal, the former Norwich manager was named interim manager of Leicester, a role he will occupy until the end of the 2022-2023 season.
Rodgers oversaw the Foxes’ terrible season, which concluded in a difficult fight against relegation. Meanwhile, they are in 18th place in the rankings after losing 17 of their last 28 games.
Following that, Ndidi highlighted the new manager’s goals, one of which is to rebuild the team from the ground up.
“It’s time to get back to basics and simplify things,” he concluded. “This is what the manager is attempting, and then we’re attempting to give everything we’ve got,” he told LCFC TV.
Guardiola’s players are also vying for the English Premier League crown, behind Arsenal by 6 points with one game remaining.
Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s encounter, the Nigerian defensive midfielder suggested that the team fighting to stay in the league might surprise City.
“It’s going to be an exciting game,” Ndidi added, “because confidence is returning a little bit.” This is an excellent time to play them because they might be startled, giving us confidence for the following one.”
On Saturday, the East Midlands will go to the Etihad Stadium in an attempt to bolster their weak chances of avoiding relegation.
