NEW CONTRACT FOR JOE WORRALL
Nottingham Forest is pleased to announce that Joe Worrall has extended his contract with the club.
The Forest captain has agreed to a two-year contract extension, keeping him at The City Ground until at least the summer of 2026.
Worrall, who joined Forest as a youngster in 2011, has made 220 appearances for his boyhood club across all competitions.
The defender made his Forest debut against Reading in April 2016 and has since established himself as a key member in the heart of Forest’s backline, captaining The Reds in their promotion-winning season in 2021/22 and last year’s campaign in which Forest retained their top-flight position.
After wearing the armband in all four of Forest’s Premier League games this season, the 26-year-old has now committed his future to the club once more, having already signed a long-term contract in 2020.
“I’m over the moon and just so pleased to extend my time with the club,” Joe Worrall stated.
“You only need to look to the future, and it appears to be very bright.” Everyone understands how much we care about improving as a team and moving forward as a club.
“The owner has repeatedly demonstrated that he is creating the Forest family and establishing a true identity within the football club, not just in the club, but in the league and around the world.” We want to be that force once more.”
Forest’s Chief Football Officer, Ross Wilson, adding, “We were pleased to reach an agreement with Joe recently to extend his contract, and I know that Joe was equally pleased to do so.”
