COLE, THE OLD Seamus Coleman of Everton returns to training after fracturing his leg, hoping to make a sensational early comeback.
The Irishman was injured while on international duty in March, but he could return by Christmas to help the Toffees’ season.

SEAMUS COLEMAN has brightened the faces of Everton fans by returning to outdoor training for the first time since breaking his leg in March.

The horrific injury occurred when the right-back was on international duty for the Republic of Ireland.

Coleman, a crucial player in Ronald Koeman’s side, was expected to miss the entire 2019 Premier League season as a result.
However, after completing a grueling solo session at Finch Farm on Friday morning, the 28-year-old is now hoping for a dazzling Christmas return.

Coleman was seen running with his waist wrapped in resistance before partaking in some sweat-inducing sprints.

And, after spending large money on big names in the transfer window, Koeman will be thrilled to see Coleman working hard as he seeks a return to the first squad.

But the Irishman isn’t Everton’s only long-term flop; Ramiro Funes Mori and Yannick Bolasie are also out with serious injuries.

All three will miss tomorrow’s match against Stoke at Goodison Park.

While James McCarthy and Ross Barkley are also likely to sit out the fixture as doubts remain over the latter’s future.

Tottenham and Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for Barkley, who has entered the final year of his contract after refusing to sign a new deal.

But after warning that the England international was set to leave, Koeman has performed a dramatic U-turn and now insists Barkley could stay for the campaign.

The Dutchman said: “If there’s no interest he will be part of the team. He is training with Everton, he is part of the team and training in a good way.”
