Brennan Johnson sends wounded Nottingham Forest player a four-word message
The newest Nottingham Forest news is that the full-back will be out for the rest of the season after breaking his jaw in the win over Brighton.
Brennan Johnson of Nottingham Forest has sent a message to injured teammate Neco Williams.
The full-back has been declared out for the rest of the season after breaking his jaw in the second half of last week’s 3-1 win over Brighton. The Welshman was given extensive treatment on the field before being transferred to the hospital.
He received successful surgery and is presently recovering. Williams was the most recent addition to Forest’s expanding injury list.
The Reds played their first game since the injury to the defender. And Johnson took advantage of the opportunity to express his club’s and international teammate’s support.
Following Danilo’s strike, the winger raised his shirt to reveal a message that read: “Neco, thinking of you.”
That goal put Forest up 1-0, but they couldn’t hang on for what would have been a vital result in their relegation battle. The Reds were defeated 2-1 by two late goals from Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva.
Johnson posted an image of his message to Williams on his Instagram stories after the game. Three red hearts were returned by the full-back.
Due to Leicester City’s match against Everton, Forest will end the day in the Premier League relegation zone as a result of the outcome against Brentford. Even if the game is a draw, Leicester will be ahead of Forest on goal difference.
Steve Cooper’s men return to play in one week when they host Southampton at the City Ground on Monday night (8 p.m. kickoff). The Reds complete the season with games against Chelsea, Arsenal, and Crystal Palace.
