Richarlison falls into tears after missing his sitter in Brazil’s game against Bolivia.

Richarlison was distraught on the sidelines.

Brazil demonstrated their class by thrashing Bolivia in their first World Cup qualifying encounter on Friday evening. Raphinha, Neymar, Rodrygo, and Richarlison formed a potent offensive quartet for Fernando Diniz’s match at Estadio Estatal Jornalista Edgar Augusto Proença.

Bolivia was pushed aside in a 5-1 triumph for Brazil. Rodrygo opened the score in the 24th minute, tapping in from close range. Two minutes after the break, Raphinha extended the five-time World Cup champions’ lead, before Rodrygo scored his second and made it 3-0 six minutes later.

Neymar, making his first competitive appearance in seven months after suffering a catastrophic ankle injury in February, made up for an early penalty miss with Brazil’s fourth goal shortly after the hour mark. With 12 minutes remaining, Victor Abrego drew one back for the visitors, only for Neymar to complete the scoring in stoppage time.

In 2023, Richarlison has battled mightily. Prior to the encounter against Bolivia, the Tottenham striker had only scored two goals for club and county this season. Sadly, his difficulties in front of goal continued on Friday evening.

While Rodrygo (2), Raphinha (2), and Neymar (2) all scored, Richalison did not, despite his best attempts. Their game match ratings demonstrate how much he suffered. Despite his missed penalty, Neymar received a rating of 9.8/10 from SofaScore, while Rodrygo and Raphinha had ratings of 9.2/10 and 9.0/10, respectively. Richarlison, on the other hand, had a 6.1/10 match rating, the lowest of any Brazilian player.

Richarlison had a number of chances to score, but his best opportunity came six minutes into the second half. With some deft footwork, the 26-year-old created some room for himself inside the box. However, he messed up his finish, ballooning the ball way over the bar from just outside the six-yard box.

Diniz opted to replace Richarlison shortly after, making room for Matheus Cunha of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Richarlison was spotted in tears on the bench after another dismal performance in which he failed to find the back of the goal.

Richarlison receives a message of solidarity from Fernando Diniz.
Diniz promised to assist Richalison after seeing his tears on the bench. “I like being in the right place to help,” he stated after the game, according to Terra.

Richarlison captured the hearts of his teammates and the fans, who applauded him on his way out. He arouses feelings of affection in everyone. And he’s a fantastic player. I will go to any length for Richarlison. “Remain calm, because the goals will come soon.”

It would be interesting to see if Richarlison starts Brazil’s next encounter against Peru on Tuesday evening. Gabriel Jesus and Cunha are two players who could be given a starting spot if Richarlison is benched.
