Carlton Morris has agreed to join Luton Town.
We are delighted to announce the signing of Barnsley striker Carlton Morris for an undisclosed amount.
After completing his physical and heading out to the Hatters’ Slovenian training camp, the 26-year-old has completed his permanent transfer from the Yorkshire club.
Cambridge-born Morris began his career at Norwich City, where he won the FA Youth Cup in 2013 alongside former Hatters player Cameron McGeehan.
He only made one senior appearance for Norwich, although he earned significant experience on loan at Oxford United, York City, Hamilton Academical, Rotherham United, Shrewsbury Town, and Milton Keynes.
He was recalled from a season-long loan at the latter in January 2021 to make his first permanent transfer, signing for Barnsley.
Morris scored seven goals in seven starts as the Tykes surged into the Championship play-offs in the second half of the 2020-21 season, eventually falling to Swansea in the semi-finals.
He was injured for most of the first three and a half months of last season, but returned in mid-November to score nine more goals, and he leaves Oakwell with a remarkable record of 16 goals from 33 starts and 22 substitute appearances.
