Although the summer transfer market has closed, Leicester City are still free to add new players to their team if they so desire.

During the summer transfer window, Enzo Maresca brought in nine new players. As the new manager updated his team, Harry Winks, Conor Coady, Callum Doyle, Mads Hermansen, Stephy Mavididi, Cesare Casadei, Yunus Akgun, Abdul Fatuwu, and Tom Cannon all arrived before the September 1 deadline.

While it appears that City’s business is over, they can always turn to the free agent market if an opportunity arises. Clubs can sign free agents outside of the transfer window.

A problem for City would be the impact any late arrival would have on their 25-man squad submitted to the EFL. A senior player would have to be omitted to accommodate any newcomers. Only under-21s players, such as deadline day signing Tom Cannon, do not have to be included.
