Spurs player writes poignant letter to supporters following departure news
Following the announcement of his departure, the Argentine goalkeeper sent a message to Tottenham Hotspur fans.

Following the announcement of his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, Paulo Gazzaniga has bid farewell to the club’s fans.

This week, it was reported that the 29-year-old goalkeeper, along with long-serving 30-year-old left-back Danny Rose, would be departing Spurs at the end of his contract.
Gazzaniga joined Tottenham from Southampton in 2017 and made 37 appearances in all competitions for the club, including his international debut for Argentina.

With the acquisition of former England stopper Joe Hart last summer, he was moved to third place in the goalkeeper pecking order this season and was unable to obtain any playing time for the north London club under Jose Mourinho throughout the campaign.

In January, Tottenham loaned the Argentine to Spanish club Elche, where he struggled to make an impact.

However, he did exactly that when it meant the most, making eight consecutive La Liga appearances in the final stages of the season as his loan team narrowly avoided relegation on the last day of the season.

Gazzaniga is now without a club, and he bid farewell to Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media on Saturday afternoon, posting a photo of him smiling in front of the fans at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

“Dear Spurs supporters: “I haven’t had the opportunity to say goodbye to everyone at N17, but I wanted to thank you for all your support during the four years I had the honor of wearing the shirt of this great club,” he added.
“It’s been an incredible journey filled with unbelievable memories.” At Tottenham, I’ve learnt a lot from my teammates, staff, friends, and supporters… THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! Best wishes, and I hope to see you again soon. #COYS Paulo.”

As a free agent this summer it is not expected to be long before Gazzaniga is snapped up by a new club.
