‘Let’s put it this way:’ Leicester City star delivers strong warning ahead of Southampton showdown
Southampton visits Leicester City in the Premier League this weekend, with the Saints four points short of safety with 14 games remaining.

Leicester City defender Wout Faes believes everyone understands how crucial the game against Southampton this weekend is.

Saints host Leicester at St Mary’s on Saturday, with the two teams separated by six points and six positions in the standings. Southampton are last in the Premier League with 18 points from 24 games, while Leicester City are 14th with 24 points from 24 games.

Southampton will enter the game four points from safety after a 1-0 loss to Leeds United last Saturday, with the Saints eager for a result to increase their chances of escaping relegation.

Both clubs are coming off FA Cup defeats this week, with Saints falling 2-1 at home to the competition’s lowest-ranked side, League Two Grimsby Town, and Leicester losing 2-1 at home to Championship outfit Blackburn Rovers.

And Leicester defender Faes has stated that he realizes the significance of the game on the south coast, with the Belgian sending a message to his colleagues following three defeats in a row in all competitions.

“I think everybody knows how important the game is,” he remarked on Leicester City’s social media outlets. “If you look at the table, that’s virtually a six-point game, to put it mildly. So, certainly, we must go there, play our football, and hope for the best.”
