Unai Emery gives a soothing message to Aston Villa fans following their shock defeat to Legia Warsaw.
Unai Emery, manager of Aston Villa, speaks to the media following the UEFA Europa Conference League defeat to Legia Warsaw.
Unai Emery has made every attempt to soothe supporters following Aston Villa’s humiliating 3-2 loss to Legia Warsaw on Thursday evening.
Villa’s first European group stage night in well over a decade was a letdown for both those who traveled and those who watched on television.
Of course, it was still a historic event, but everyone was hoping for a happy conclusion, which didn’t happen since Legia was clinical.
Regardless of the outcome, Emery stays composed and believes that supporters can move on from the shock as soon as possible with many more games to come.
“Today, everything that happened in the game I have lived before,” the four-time UEFA Europa League winner reassured Birmingham Live.
“We still have five games left and the opportunity to respond.” It’s not a good outcome, but we still have five games left,” Emery added.
The Claret and Blues return to Europa Conference League action on Thursday, October 5, when they host HK Zrinjski Mostar at Villa Park.
